Puerto Princesa: The City in a Forest Birthday Travel Day 2 The Underground River and Sabang Beach

“God gave us the gift of life and it is up to us to give ourselves the gift of living well.” 🙂

IMG_8372The second day of our tour in Puerto Princesa Palawan was the most awaited part of our itinerary, my birthday and oh well, finally we were able to see one of the 7 wonders of the nature; The Underground River. We didn’t have any idea on what we’re going to see that day. We did not read detailed blog post and of course we don’t want to spoil any surprises that is awaiting for us.

It’s a dream come true to be in there. On November 11, 2011, Puerto Princesa Underground River was provisionally chosen as one of the New 7 Wonders of the world. This selection was officially confirmed on January 28, 2012. The cave includes major formations of stalactites and stalagmites, you won’t believe that these minerals create a form of vegetables. The boatman which also served as our tour guide inside the cave were very knowledgeable about the minerals that we can found. They are also very funny by the way.

IMG_8201This way will lead you the cave. 🙂 Please excuse my haggard face. 🙂

This cave looks ordinary at the outside but when you entered it, nature is unbelievably awesome.

We were told that when it is summer the water in the river is green, it only turned to grayish because we came there in a rainy season.

Be careful with your belongings there were a lot of monkeys all over the place. They stole your things so we were brief ahead of time not to bring any food or plastic that will attract them.

IMG_8254Now we are ready to get in! 🙂

It is very dark inside the cave so to be sure put OFF lotion against the insects that might bite you. We took a lot of pictures inside the cave but we will only share few of it so you will still have the reason to visit it too in the near future and discover the beauty inside of it. You’ll see a lot bats hanging above the minerals, scary; it seems that they can attack you whenever they want. Haha.

IMG_8276 IMG_8311My second favorite rock formation- the big candle look a like.

The whole cave tour will took you 45 mins to 1 hour, so you still have a lot time in the afternoon to do another activities. There were two activities being offered to us we only chose one which is the SABANG Zipline because we were in a combined tour which means that we also need to adjust to what the others want. Another first time activity for the two of us.

What we like the most in Palawan is everywhere you look, you see green. 🙂 Very refreshing in the eyes.

Before totally leaving the park, we still roamed around to see what we were missing.

The Big Butiki

The Monkey

Ooopsss, nothing much, okay so we already left the park. 🙂 Amazing journey!

 (Ohhh I hate photobombers haha)

Since the combined tour was compose of a family and elders, most of them chose the Sabang Zipline which is easier than the Ugong Rock activity that will need physical power. At first, I am hesitant with this activity because it’s a little bit pricey for a one ride journey (500PHP) but just like the other people keep in saying you are only in that place once so make the most out of it even if this will broke you. (kidding) Again, YOLO problems.Haha. So let’s give it a try! As what I have said, that was the first time we did the ZIPLINE because we wanted it to be memorable and amazing! Perfect SABANG ZIPLINE! 🙂

It was not the ordinary zipline experience that we have in Manila. You’ll ride a car first, drove into a muddy road, you’ll cross the river, you’ll trek and climb. Haha. All in one, awesome for us but not for the others.

we crossed this river ( I fell inlove to these Mangroves)

we walked in the shoreline

we climbed to the upper portion of the woods

One Couple Shot Please 🙂

then trekked to the woods

Finally Welcome to the SABANG x ZIPLINE!!! 🙂

We both decided to split our ride into single so we can both experience it individually. I am super paranoid whenever I fly, I always think of what might happen if I fell from above. I always divert my thoughts into something positive.

Budz. 🙂

Me. 🙂

View from above. 🙂

Two thumbs up for our Zipline experience in Puerto Princesa Palawan. 🙂 We also avail the souvenir photo they took which is 250PHP/pc. Yes, another pricey thing but I think it was reasonable enough because that place has no electricity. They have to bring their own generator to print those souvenir photos. 🙂

The majestic view is awaiting for you right after your Zipline ride. 🙂 The wind blew so hard that we ran so fast way back to the car. We crossed a small river and the sand where thumping all over our body, it hurts. God is good He made us finish the zipline experience first before the heavy rain showered.

Forget about the haggard face, focus on the beautiful landscape. 🙂 #NofilterInBlogging

It will be the most memorable birthday I had in my ** years of existence. 🙂 Thank you so much for reading! 🙂
