Every summer has a story and it’s up to you on how you want it to be remembered someday. Summer gets your hair lighter, skin gets darker and most of all life gets better when you had the chance to travel to those places that you haven’t visited yet. 🙂
Baler is the capital of Aurora and very popular as a surfing destination to those who wanted to try surfing. We found out that best months to surf are during October to February when the monsoon carries strong winds, we visited Baler during Holy week the waves were just fine for me.
The countryside attractions were just near to each other, Baler is just a small town that you can roam around by walking only. We had our breakfast near the abandoned hospital and tried to came in to see what it looks like inside. Well, it’s creepy, one of my colleague had his selfie and saw something in the picture which he deleted immediately after showing to us. Yay! :s
Our first destination was the famous 600 years old Balete tree or also known as Millennium tree. You can go inside of it but expect it to be narrow and hot as air was just limited. I did not try to climb as I am afraid to fell. 🙂 I also saw mosquitoes so be careful.
Strike a pose. 🙂
I so love the green scenery of our background. I am a real fan of nature. 🙂 No effects are needed to make the pictures look good as it is indeed beautiful! 🙂
Our next stop was in Quezon Park. There’s nothing much that you can do here aside from having a picnic. It rained for a while there and good thing it was not heavy. We asked for a good weather, God listened so He gave it to us. 🙂
We did not able to make it to the top of the park to see what’s in there because we immediately went back to our van. 😦 Nevertheless, we still managed to took pictures. Hahaha. 🙂
I got confused in the next places that we’ve visited. 😦 I do not know which of the two is the Baler Bay and Dimadimalangat islet. I did not bother to asked the tour guide as we were very busy to go around to the different spots of the place. There were a lot of people in the beach because I think it is a public place to swim. There were tents and cottages full of vacationists, maybe because it was also a holy week. 🙂
Photo-bombers all over the place. 🙂
We dropped in one place for a sight-seeing of one Isla which was an off-limits for tourists. There’s no way that we can go down to the isla because it was very steeped, one wrong move then you might fall and hit your head to the rocky area.
It seems that it isn’t bluffy but it is. Look at those rocks below, this is what I am saying that you will fall in a stony ground.
Then, we decided to have our lunch early in the famous Eat All You Can Gerry Shan’s Place. It will only cost you a 180PHP per head with free juice. The food was okay but I didn’t enjoy the place, it was a jampacked! You can’t move freely as there were a lot people around you. I finished my lunch so fast and went out immediately to breathe air. It was very hot inside. Then my colleagues started to went out too. I do apologize for the negative comment but that was my experienced.
We rested for a while and then walked to see the Quezon Street of Baler. I took pictures in a Shell Station we passed by – one proud employee again. Hahaha. 🙂 You can also see some souvenir stuff here which was a lot cheaper to those stuff in Souvenir Center of Baler. Good thing that we bought our t-shirts here and didn’t wait to have it there.
“Tiwalang Ferrari.. Hindi sabi-sabi.” right?!
Next destinations were in Museo De Baler, Tandang Sora House and Baler Church. We just walked and didn’t try to ride in our van because as I have said before, it was just near to each other. 🙂
Lovely garden beside the Museo. 🙂 Hmmm. It seems that this will be our signature pose. 🙂 Liked it! 🙂
My boyfriend-slash-feeling.model. Hahaha 🙂
The girlfriend-slash-feeling.photographer. 🙂
No, he’s not my BOSS. 🙂 I’m the BOSS. 🙂 Right budz? Hahaha.
Took this picture in Tandang Sora’s house. It was indeed a typical old house of Juan De La Cruz. It looks great, I wonder if there were renovations done in this place because we were living also in an old house which was made up of woods and there were a lot of termites so we have to change the certain part of the house. Anyway, the place was very well maintained. 🙂
We were not lucky enough to enter the Catholic church of Baler because it was closed.
So the main reason why we were here was to surf. 🙂 The highlight of the day just came and we’re ready to hit those waves. Olalalaaaa… sounds sporty huh?! Hahaha. When we arrived in the sabang beach, we were taught first on how to surf. Each of us has our own trainer that guided us even during our surf time in the beach.
With my colleagues in Shell during our basic training in surfing. 🙂
One more couple picture before we start. 🙂 Photo-bombers again. 😡
Olalala. Budz did very well in surfing. I remember our sand-boarding in Ilocos he stood out in all of us and then now in Baler he also did the same thing. 🙂 So proud of him. 🙂
Ohhh well actually, I am not a sporty person. I don’t have a regular exercise aside from walking. I just wanted to to try those things that I haven’t done before. If I succeed cool, if not it’s allright. Hahaha. I wasn’t able to stood while surfing, my knees were shaking already that time and I got tired easily. My surfing board hit my neck when I was about to stood up after being swiped by the wave. It made me feel like I was choked so I decided to stop surfing and just took pictures of them.
Funny stolen picture. Look, I am so relaxed while Budz was so determined to surf. 🙂
Meet the whole team of surfers. 🙂
We ended our first day in the beach. 🙂 It felt very nice that we have done something new again. 🙂 We ate our dinner in Bay’s Inn and paid a 200PHP bill- another eat all you can food restaurant which I appreciated already. 🙂
The next day, our planned was to trek the Ditumabo Falls or also known as the Mother Falls. I was informed by my friend that the trail was so rocky and exhausting so bring only those things that I only need. While going there, the weather was not so good as there were raindrops from the heaven which means that we have to take extra precautions while trekking. If I am not mistaken, we trekked for almost an hour. My friend told me exactly what I saw, the trails was so rocky and slippery.
Finally, we reached the Mother Falls and swam! 🙂 The water was so cold and refreshing enough to remove our weary.
Baler is a nice place to visit, to chill and enjoy. Thanking our Lord for all the blessings and opportunities that He is giving to us. 🙂 I am still looking forward for our more adventures together! 🙂 Thank you for reading our Baler post. 🙂
People that are meant to be together always find each other at the end.
